As it was announced in the Secretariate of the Committee, in the course of the 9 sittings of the Committee that were held for this period, 36 issues were scrutinized, 30 bills were elaborated, the Verkhovna Rada adopted out of them 7 Laws and 2 Resolutions, in the first reading 6.
The Committee submitted 32 preliminary conclusions regarding the bills that are under other Parliamentary Committees.
Taking into the consideration the requirements of the Law "On principals of the National Security of Ukraine" and development of the geopolitical situation in the world, changes in the character of real and potential threats to national security of Ukraine, the Committee addressed the President of Ukraine V. Yanukovych with the written propositions regarding the coordinated actions of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, connected with the solutions of the existing problems.
Essential directions of the Committee activity were the cooperation with the foreign countries. Were held the following meetings of the Committee Chairman and its members: with the delegations of the Parliament of Romania, Ministry on Defence of Great Britain; Embassy of the USA in Ukraine; Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine, Aviation Military College in the USA.
The Committee member took active part in the work of the standing delegations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Ukrainian p0art of the Interparliamentary Council Ukraine-NATO, in Parliamentary Assembly NATO, in Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Ukrainian part of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and European Union, Executive Committee of the National Parliamentary Group in Interparliamentary Union, in Parliamentary dimension of the Central European Initiative, in Interparliamentary Assembly of Countries-participants of Community of Independent States.
For the period were elaborated 1083 documents and letters, 151 citizens´ appeals.
